The Two Fatalities Named in the Providence Campus Shooting as Authorities Press On With Search for Perpetrator.

Both young individuals who lost their lives in the recent mass shooting on the university campus were being remembered Monday – while an intensive search for their killer carried on following the release by local law enforcement of the single suspect of interest in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was called “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, according to the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which paid tribute to her at a gathering on Sunday.

Cook was vice-president of Brown’s division of the campus GOP group, the group said. The White House press secretary also expressed condolences online, saying in part: “It's indescribable. Keeping in mind her loved ones and companions, especially her parents.”

The Second Victim

The second fatality was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, from Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the renowned school, according to relatives.

His name was officially acknowledged by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. He had big dreams of entering the field of neurosurgery and helping people,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a tribute.

What Happened

Nine more persons were wounded in the violent event in the engineering building of Brown’s university in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.

Law enforcement reported late Sunday that a man aged 24 detained in a search at a lodging about around 27 kilometers from the university earlier in the day was released from custody.

“We have a murderer out there,” said Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

He added, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you have to regroup and pursue a different angle, and that is the current situation over the last 24 hours or so.”

Public Fear

Providence’s mayor, Brett Smiley, noted: “It is expected to provoke renewed concern for our community”.

The assailant opened fire inside a classroom in the building on Saturday, firing more than 40 rounds from a 9mm pistol, a law enforcement official told the Associated Press.

Officers that searched the hotel recovered two firearms and two ammunition clips when the suspect was taken into custody, according to reports.

The Wounded Victims

Of the nine hurt, a single scholar was allowed to go home, stated Brown’s president, Christina Paxson. An additional seven were in grave but unchanging health, and another was critically ill, police said on Sunday.

An educational institution, a private K-12 school in Durham, North Carolina, said Kendall Turner, Kendall Turner, was among those critically wounded.

Additional Memorials

Tributes were paid to Cook at a church service in Birmingham on Sunday. A reverend stated, “She shone as a remarkable, stable, devout beacon not only during her upbringing... but at Brown University she was a radiant presence in that particular place as well.”

A group leader, Martin Bertao, shared a message from the organization. “Ella was known for her bold, brave, and kind heart as she aided her club and fellow classmates,” he said.

An American diplomat, Jonathan Henick, said he was “extremely sorrowful” by the student's death in a message. “We offer our heartfelt sympathies to the Umurzokov family, companions, and peers and grieve for of his potential.”
